This Swivel bike rack allows you to store your bikes along the wall out of the way. It protects the wall from the tires itself but not from the handlebars hitting the wall. I had to add some clear protectors to the wall where the handlebars hit as it was leaving some scuff marks where it hits. The pedals don't hit so no worries there. It's a neat design for a garage where you might have the room to do it. The rack itself is made well and swivels without any issues. If you have multiple bikes this definitely takes up less space then leaving them on the ground or storing them vertically on the wall.
